Philanthropy is one of our most important and exciting features of our Fraternity. We were founded on principles of justice, mutual assistance and aid and believe it to be an integral part of not only growing together as a brotherhood but as a community. We realize the immeasurable support the world has lent us to put us in our place today and feel honored and privileged to give back to our gracious society.

We run many activities including Beta Rose, sponsoring campus events and fundraising that contribute towards a multitude of beneficial organizations. In particular, one of our biggest events is The Great Rubber Ducky Race. The Great Rubber Ducky Race has been Beta Theta Pi's traditional philanthropy event for a number of years and 2002 looks to be the best year yet. This annual event benefits the children of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Delaware County and has been one of the longest standing traditions in the Villanova Community.
Each spring, our fraternity puts up a number of rubber duckies up for adoption to race down a large slip and slide track set down the entire length of the Quad. The local firemen come in and provide the water from their fire trucks for the race. Each rubber ducky is individually numbered and the duck that comes through the finish line first wins their adopter a great prize.
