Description of CMT, Director and Honor Board Positions

Delta Gamma Officers
President
The president is the chapter leader and the chapter representative on campus, in the community and in the Fraternity. She is responsible to the membership, advisers, Panhellenic, university, community and Fraternity. She must be knowledgeable about the Fraternity and her chapter and must be able to speak thoughtfully and intelligently. Through her knowledge, commitment, efficiency and enthusiasm, she sets the example for member attitudes and actions. The chapter's success depends greatly upon how well the president accepts her responsibilities and performs the duties of her office.
 
Vice-President: Programming
It is the responsibility of the vice-president: programming, with the assistance of the other officers and directors to create and maintain within the chapter an atmosphere of trust, understanding and congeniality. She must have a clear understanding of Fraternity ideals and the philosophy of chapter programming, with an emphasis on scholarship, rituals and human relations. The position requires creativity and imagination, time management and organizational skills, enthusiasm, and sensitivity. The goal of the vice-president: programming is to provide positive and balanced programming which is both informative and enjoyable for the chapter.
 
Vice-President: Social Standards
The primary responsibility of the vice-president: social standards is to serve as the chairman of the Honor Board. It is her duty to guide that board and to ensure that friendship, sympathy and assistance are provided to all members. Along with the president, she serves as the link between the Honor Board and the Chapter Management Team. The secondary responsibility of the vice-president: social standards, along with other officers and directors, is to ensure that the chapter develops a positive program of social experiences that incorporate the standards of Delta Gamma. They should work toward creating an atmosphere in which members have the opportunity to develop poise, self-confidence and a good character which expresses itself in the practice and recognition of courteous and responsible social behavior.
 
Vice-President: Member Education
It is the responsibility of the vice-president: member education to provide the resources for members to become familiar with the Fraternity Constitution, history, ideals and standards, as well as the privileges and responsibilities of lifetime membership in Delta Gamma. The vice-president: member education, with other officers and directors, facilitates a continuous education program for new members and an ongoing educational experience for initiated members. Together, these educational programs supplement the university experience by providing a framework for personal growth and leadership development.
 
Vice-President: Membership
Successful membership recruitment is essential to the growth and development of Delta Gamma. An effective recruitment is an enormous task requiring the time and energy of each member. The vice-president: membership is responsible for directing a program, which affects the growth and health of the chapter and the personal development of the members. The recruitment team includes those directors responsible for sponsorship and Continuous Open Bidding (COB)
 
Vice-President: Finance
The vice-president: finance establishes a strong financial base for the chapter through implementation of a sound financial program. She is efficient, accurate, tenacious, trustworthy, objective and analytical in handling her fiduciary responsibilities. These qualities have application outside of the chapter and the Fraternity as she deals with local merchants. Through the vice-president's financial program, the chapter will learn to live within its means and the members will learn to be responsible for their financial obligations.
 
Vice-President: Foundation
The vice-president: Foundation coordinates and directs the philanthropic activities of her chapter according to the purpose and programming guidelines of the Delta Gamma Foundation. She serves as the liaison between the chapter and the Delta Gamma Foundation and maintains an up-to-date awareness of the Delta Gamma Foundation philanthropies including Service for Sight, Scholarships, Fellowships, Student Loans, and a variety of educational programs that include career guidance, leadership training, alcohol and drug awareness, health issues, officer seminars and scholastic excellence.
 
Vice-President: Panhellenic
The primary responsibility of the vice-president: Panhellenic is to support and strengthen not only Delta Gamma but also the fraternity system as a whole. She is able to help Delta Gamma and other groups thrive by encouraging the exchange of ideas, programs, and information among collegiate chapters, the College Panhellenic and the National Panhellenic Conference. The secondary responsibility of the vice-president: Panhellenic, along with other officers and directors, is to ensure that a cooperative relationship exists between the chapter and Delta Gamma alumnae, the university, and the community. Events and activities encouraging good public relationships among these groups need to be incorporated into the total chapter program.
 
Vice-President: Communications
The vice-president: communications is the recording officer of the chapter and the custodian of chapter records. Accurate, neat records are necessary in the execution of her office and are vital to the effectiveness of the other chapter officers. These chapter records provide an accurate and complete history for the chapter and will be treasured in years to come. She is also responsible for maintaining good public relations through written communication. Her correspondence should be carefully, thoughtfully and correctly written. In addition, the vice-president: communications, along with other officers and directors, has the responsibility of providing well-written chapter reports to the Fraternity magazine, the ANCHORA.

Scholarship
The director of scholarship works with the chapter to help achieve and maintain a high GPA. She encourages high academic performance by using the A's and B's board to select a member to receive a small prize at chapter, as well as rewarding members who have attended all of their classes every week. In addition to this, she maintains a record of study hours throughout the semester. At the end of the semester, she collects grades to send to Executive Offices.
 
Rituals
The most important job for Director of Rituals is Initiation. In addition, she works with the fraternity to promote an attitude of appreciation for the value and meaning of Fraternity rituals.
 
Social Events
The director of social events plans and organizes a well-balanced program of social events under the direction of the vice-president: social standards. This program includes activities with other sororities, alumnae, campus groups, etc. She is also responsible for planning date functions, such as our annual Debutante dance in the spring.
 
Sponsorship
The director of sponsorship works with the Vice-president: membership during recruitment as well as the director of Continuous Open Biding.
 
COB
Informal recruitment is held in the fall for qualified sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as in the spring after formal recruitment is over, and is open to freshmen. Informal recruitment is also known as Continuous Open Biding (COB). The director of COB’s plans and schedules each event and works with her crew to ensure that each COB party is fun and relaxing for everyone involved.
 
New Members
After receiving a bid, new members attend new member meetings to learn more about the fraternity and to get to know the other members. The Director of New Members leads each meeting and with each class, plans activities to help new members make a smooth transition from new member to initiated member.
 
Activities
The director of Activities keeps members and new members informed about campus and community activities, events and organizations, as well as fraternity events and birthdays.
 
Public Relations
The director of Public Relations/E-communications is responsible for promoting a positive image of Delta Gamma as well as the Greek system. She maintains the fraternity website to inform members and non-members about events and activities that they may participate in.
 
E-Communications
 
Alternate Panhellenic Delegate
The Alternate PHC delegate is required to attend all PHC meetings with the Vice-President: panhellenic, and is responsible for reporting back to the chapter if the VP is unable to do so.
 
Social Awareness/Well Aware
The director of Social Awareness ensures that all visitors to the chapter feel welcome and that the chapter extends common courtesies to all guests including Collegiate Development Consultants, Council, and Cabinet officers visiting the chapter. She informs the chapter of proper etiquette and procedure for numerous occasions, and is responsible for planning the etiquette dinner that is held every semester as well as making arrangements with the participating fraternity. Well Aware is program sponsored by Delta Gamma, that is designed to inform and educate on all points of wellness, including physical and mental. In addition to setting a house goal for exercise, she announces and encourages chapter members to attend upcoming wellness-related campus seminars and workshops.

Alumnae Relations
Maintaining a relationship with the local alumnae group is important for the chapter. The Director of Alumnae relations encourages positive public relations with alumnae, including attendance at local alumnae meetings, correspondence, invitations to chapter events, etc. She also, keeps local alumnae informed about chapter events and activities and sees that they are invited to events of interest, and instills in chapter members a sense of lifelong membership in Delta Gamma through education and programming.
 
Anchor Splash
Anchor Splash is Delta Gamma's™ annual fundraiser for our national philanthropy Service for Sight, as well as our local philanthropy the Oregon School for the Blind. The Director of Anchor Splash plans the field and pool events, and also keeps track of the points that each participating group receives in each competition.
